The 2026-2027 Cyno Zine is a fanmade project focused on Genshin Impact's number one character from Sumeru, Cyno!

Q1. What is the Cyno Zine?

A. The 2026-27 Cyno Zine, Sunrise over the Necropolis, is a for charity, fan made zine focused on the evolution of Cyno’s life. This zine will contain chronologically ordered fan made content centered on the canon and fanon phases of his life. (All decided by Interest Check.)

Q2. How can I be part of the Cyno Zine?

A. The Cyno Zine is still looking for Chinese, Korean and Spanish Language Ambassadors. If you are interested please contact us through any methods!
Contributor Applications are open until September 12th! The application link is in our carrd!
Supporters are as important as staff and contributors. We appreciate you for wanting to buy the zine and for sharing our posts on social media!

Q3. What is the schedule for the zine?

A. You can see the full schedule in our carrd by navigating to the schedule tab. The zine is currently in application phase until September 18th, after which it will enter creation phase until January with the goal of finishing and shipping in June of 2027.

Q4. Will ships and other characters be featured in the zine?

A. In the interest of maintaining a thematic focus on Cyno, content centering on ships will not be allowed. Other characters are welcome to make an appearance, as long as the overall focus remains on Cyno.

Q5. Is the zine NSFW?

A. The zine will be SFW. Partial nudity, such as in the case of Cyno's default outfit, is allowed.

Q6. Is usage of AI allowed?

A. All works must be original creations. Content generated in whole or in part through AI is strictly prohibited. This includes using AI to brainstorm, translate, or edit submissions. Usage of AI will result in removal from the zine.

Q7. Will the zine be physical or digital?

A. Both! We plan on producing physical copies of the zine, alongside accompanying merch. Following the interest check, the merch types that received the most interest are keychains, stickers, standees, and exclusive prints.

Q8. How much will the zine cost?

A. We are currently in the process of fielding contributor applications. Once we finalize the zine length and included merch items, we will be able to provide a cost estimate to our supporters. Cyno Mains is committed to finding the most appropriate and accessible price-point that maintains high quality production and merch longevity!

Q9. Will there be giveaways?

A. Yes, there will be a giveaway! We hope to give back to our wonderful and supportive community through raffles and giveaways. These will include physical zine and merch! Please make sure to follow us on your preferred social media to stay updated on our raffles.

Q10. I want to support the zine, but I can't afford to purchase a bundle. Is there a donation fund?

A. All proceeds from the zine will be donated to the Palestine Children's Relief Fund! We are honored to support this important cause and give back to one of the regions that inspired Sumeru. We will set up a community donation tab to fundraise together!

Q11. Can I share my contribution after the zine is released?

A. Yes! Contributors are encouraged to share their work and celebrate the project on their socials. You are also welcome to update your followers on your progress throughout this project. More details on this process will be provided following acceptance to the zine.

Q12. Can I repost artwork from the zine?

A. All artists and authors maintain their own standards for sharing and reporting original works. Please identify the creator behind the work and check their social media pages for guidelines on sharing their creations. Don't repost someone else's work without their permission. Cyno Mains explicitly forbids feeding any components of our zine into AI-based or AI-assisted software to modify existing creations or generate new works.

Q13. Apart from aging up and down, will the zine showcase other variations in Cyno's appearance?

A. The cover of the zine will feature Cyno in his canon, in-game design. Other contributions may feature variations to Cyno's appearance, as long as he remains immediately recognizable. Popular fan interpretations such as darker skin, locs, or curly hair are all welcomed in the zine! Aspiring contributors are invited to reach out via our social media channels if they have a specific pitch in mind.
